Details:
On Saturday 22nd the late afternoon Sun was observed descending towards the horizon to the west of Mutare in a hazy but almost cloudless sky. At about a quarter-past-six a lone growing cumulus cloud appeared and expanded vertically upwards to form a tall pillar which was approached by the setting Sun until the two met at its base. Managed to capture some still photos while this was happening. See how, in the accompanying looped time-lapse animation and six frame mosaic, the cloud continues to grow as the Sun sets behind it. Camera: Hand-held Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 in sunset mode
