Details:
I wanted to do a comparison of Betelgeuse during this dimming phase, both in visible light, and in infrared. The infrared image is a bit dramatic because it captures the huge gas and dust area around the red supergiant star. That does not represent the actual size of the star. The visible light image is to the left, and the infrared to the right. All camera settings are the same. The Visible shot was with a Canon 80D, and the IR was a astro-modified Canon EOS t5i.
