Details:
In the evening of the 29th of January 2020 about half an hour after sunset the western skies were ablaze with unusual beautiful colors. Initially a low vibrant orange skirting the horizon from south to north and followed by purple colors stretching overhead. the display was evident for a long period of time and then it suddenly disappeared around 10pm. I suspect this display is the direct result of ongoing forest fires on the Australian mainland and the smoke having encircled the southern hemisphere. To add to the colorful sight was the crescent Moon with the very bright planet Venus close by.
