Details:
At a few minutes past 1 am on Monday, the Waxing Moon displaying a Golden Handle was captured setting on the northern shoulder of Christmas Pass. The golden handle is a play of light on the high peaks of the Lunar Montes Jura along the terminator line, visible four to five days before full Moon. Unlike on a previous occasion last May when the terminator was almost horizontal (http://spaceweathergallery.com/indiv_upload.php?upload_id=153611), yesterday morning’s terminator was much more steeply inclined relative to the horizon. Camera: Tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 in sunset mode with x40 zoom magnification.
