Details:
Witnessed an incredible twilight fireball this evening as I just arrived home from work. 2019 November 6 at 8:08pm AEDT. (9:08UT) 7 minutes after local sunset. Location - Swan Hill, Victoria Australia. Fireball magnitude was at least -8, closer to -10. Multiple outbursts were observed before disintegrating. The sonic boom arrived about 3 minutes later, sounding like thunder rumble. Local dogs were even barking at the sound. Using a Canon 60D and 50mm lens, I snapped this wide angle photo at 9:13UT and close up at 9:15UT looking West. The vapour trail lasted about 25 minutes. The direction of the meteor was almost exactly East to West. Peak altitude about 80 degrees North. The direction of travel was approximately towards the towns of Ouyen Vic and Pinaroo SA.
