Details:
Following the front page item on red colour in auroras This is an old (and very poor) photograph taken on long exposure low ASA/ISO film in I think spring 2003 in North Yorkshire. UK. The definition of the rays is lost because of the length of the exposure, the length of which is clear from the extent of the star trails, but the overall colour was very red to the eye as well as the camera, with yellowish towards the horizon.
