Details:
Shortly after sunset a fairly concentrated 'patch' of high altitude material across the Western sky appeared. Looking like 'silvery' high clouds at sunset they steadily became brighter. They became pink higher up and pale yellow orange closer to the horizon. Besides a strikingly irregular distribution of the material catching the light, a series of radial cloud shadows could be seen superimposed over this. This display also showed a 'normal' twilight with more muted colors taking place in the gaps. The closeup of the late stages shows a contrail silhouetted against the much higher layer still catching the sunlight.
