Details:
I drove about an hour outside the city to be in complete darkness, just in time for the solar wind to arrive. Initially the activity was good but not spectacular. However, everything changed after 2:30am local time. Between then and 4am, the aurora borealis put on one of the most spectacular shows I have ever seen.
