'False' turn 'true' crepuscualr rays

Details:
After seemingly interminable days of low cloud off the North Sea, the sky cleared yesterday, but contained a zone of high moisture levels. As I waited to see if any NLCs would appear behind the town's favourite tree, valued because of its position by which you can visually place it against the distant horizon towards the moment of sunset at all times of the year (the NLC's didn't appear) the setting sun sprayed a fan of diffuse rays through the zone of light mist, which continued as the sun sank below the horizon leaving 'true' crepuscular rays above the landscape.
