Details:
This was the best display of NLCs I have seen in this location for a number of years The bright NLCs reaching up about 15 degrees above the horizon. Lower level cloud blocked some of the display and as the NLCs came closer to the horizon, they took on an orange tinge. There were a wide range of patterns and shapes in the NLC's some of which I had not observed before. Overall, the best display I have seen for a long time. Time 22:11 GMT Camera 5D, 12 seconds at f7 ISO 200 focal length 87mm Processing:only "levels" given minor adjustment. Images reduced to 3000px wide. Colour is a fair representation of the naked eye observations. The clouds had all but disappeared by 2300 GMT
