Details:
We had a very bright display of noctilucent clouds last night, June 19, with these taken from near home in southern Alberta, Canada. These were about the brightest I have seen. It is proving to be a very good NLC season, when the tropospheric clouds allow us a view!
This night, some wispy NLCs even appeared almost overhead at the start of twilight, but those faded fast. These bright horizon clouds to the NW lasted more than an hour, gradually fading from the top down as the Sun angle dropped and they were no longer illuminated.
These are panoramas with a 50mm lens. Each frame a 1 sec exposure at f/2.8 and ISO 400, taken about 11:20 pm MDT.
