Details:
Even though the moon was bright, the aurora had no problem shining through the moonlight outside of Sheridan, Wyoming. It was brightest at 1:20AM.

Two years ago I was in Gillette and I traveled by Sheridan to go to Yellowstone. Huge and beautiful Wyoming. Didnt I think auroras looked so good at a medium latitude or is it a rare phenomenon for you?

The aurora is usually visible from Wyoming a few times a year. But they are less common right now because of solar minimum.
