Details:
After days of grey skies over eastern England at dusk a zone of bright iridescence,rather different than a sundog, punctuated a break in the clouds on the western horizon while the sun remained obscured. Canon EOS6D f/9 1/400 105mm ISO100

Nevertheless this is a common 22 degrees parhelion (sundog) caused by ice crystals.
