Details:
Green auroras, with a hint of purple, stand out against the orange & blue twilight sky above Anchorage, Alaska (with Mts. Denali & Foraker silhouetted 170 miles in the distance). Viewed from Powerline Pass in the Chugach Range on April 27, 2019 at 1:42 am. Aurora Season is on the final countdown in the Anchorage latitudes (61°-62° N). There’s just a few more weeks of waning darkness to provide potential viewing of the Northern Lights before the bright lights of summer hit. Despite being in Solar Minimum it feels like it’s been an amazingly good season. Thank goodness for Coronal Holes!
