Details:
April 8 was a superb night for capturing Earthshine on the waxing crescent Moon. I captured the close up view in a series of 7 exposures, from 1/30 second to 2 seconds, to blend into a single image retaining detail on the sunlit crescent while bringing out the subtle glow of Earthshine on the dark side of the Moon, and the deep blue of the twilight sky. I used a 105mm aperture refractor to frame the Moon.
As a bonus this night, the Moon was just below Mars and between the Hyades and Pleiades star clusters in Taurus. I captured the wide scene with a 135mm telephoto tracking the sky, again for a series of short (for the Moon) to long exposures (for the stars).
