Details:
After a wonderful lunar sunset,I have decided to try to watch the sunset of Sirius, the brightest stars of the sky. A few degrees from the horizon (image 1) its light looked like a long flashing flame of many colors from red,to green and blue. Just before it touched it,for a fews seconds its light was clearly reflected on the sea (image 2): WOW! Shortly afterwards, the star and its reflection joined together (image 3) and then gradually weakened, until its light disappeared, leaving a brillant green flash! Unluckly I wasn't fast enought to take its image, but only its weak last light (image 4)! The photos are not beautiful but at night I couldnt do better. I hope to try again in the spring, when Sirio will set immediately after sunset.
It is my second green flash of Sirius, after that seen on 15 January 2019!
I have used a 12 dobson, placed on the table, 100 magnifications and a smartphone in night mode (2000 ISO) The beach is far away about 7 kms. The images have not been modified.
