Details:
After an unexpected late afternoon shower two bright Sundogs appeared in the western sky. The first to the left of the Sun was above Hospital Hill. This was followed by another to the right of the Sun above a ridge to the north of Christmas Pass (mosaic). These (lead image and two close-ups) were at the same elevation as the Sun and were situated about 22 degrees on either side. In this case the left Sundog was less obvious and lasted for only two minutes, whereas the right one was brighter and persisted for over a quarter-of-an-hour. Camera: Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ-60 in sunset scene mode and up to x20 zoom magnification.
