Under favorable visibility conditions could I recognize Mercury with my eyes. On this day, the 27.02.2019, at 18:15 UT he reached his largest eastern elongation from the sun. The earth was 139 million KM that day removed from Mercury. Subsequently, the visibility conditions worsened until he sank on the horizon.
