Details:
The Crescent Moon, Venus and Jupiter were so beautiful this morning, especially the close Moon/Venus conjunction, that I gathered up my my gear incl 400mm lens to play. Right outside my front door in Boulder, Colorado, USA, I caught them with a jet - flying below them of course. Later, I scampered around a nearby park with the 10lb (4.25kg) lens, to line up the pair with the "1st Flatiron" rocky peak. Hurrying away from the peak made the peak lower compared to the pair (as they tried to set), and hurrying to the east moved them more to the left of the Flatiron. Atmospheric turbulence played a major role, especially in the later photos. Venus was readily visible to the eye (with the Moon's guidance for location) for most of the morning, and barely visible as they set below the mountains, around local noon. Nikon D800E w/ 400mm f/2.8 lens at f/5.6, ISO 100, and ~1/750 sec exposure.
