Marking Winters 1st Weekend was The Full Moon of December, called the Full Cold Moon, arrived on (Dec. 22), a day after making a close pass by Aldebaran, the brightest star in Taurus. The moon become officially full on Dec. 22 at 12:49 p.m. EST (1749 GMT), according to NASA. The moon was in the constellation Taurus and rose 15 minutes after sunset. The full moon happen to occur a day after the winter solstice. The last time a full moon coincided with the solstice was in 2010, and the next will be in 2094.
I image with an The Edge HD 11 OTA / ZWO ASI1600MM Pro Monochrome Astronomy Camera / with a 0.5 focal reducer and a red filter all tracking on an AP1600 goto mount. This Moon image is 2 images stitched together in photoshop CS6 after using FireCapture to record moon in ser files. Then used AutoStakket!2 to stack ser files to make 2 moon image as tif. 1 for the top half and the other 1 of the bottom half of the moon. This was the first time I used the ZWO ASI1600MM Pro Monochrome Astronomy Camera. I just wish the seeing would have bin better. Also the clouds rolled in to make it a short imaging night.
