Green on green as the aviators say. Tonight fuzzy green comet 46P Wirtanen was competing for the attention with a spectacular aurora outburst. While waiting for the moon to set to be able get som deep shots of the comet in the early morning hours, a beautiful aurora outburst put a stop to all such plans. Ive never thought of aurora as light-pollution before, but what a luxuary problem! Despite the green skies here outside Tromsø in Norway, comet Wirtanen could still be seen through the green veils as a denser green fuzzball. The comet was still just about possible to see with the naked eye from my location after the moon had set - at least when the auroras kept away. What a night! Nikon D4s, ISO 2000, 8 sec, AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm, f/2,8 @ 70 mm
