Details:
What a bonus the peak of the Geminid meteor shower and comet Wirtanen on the same night. Dubbed the Christmas comet by some, what better place to photograph the comet than a Christmas tree farm in Lunenburg County. On the lower left you will see a Geminid meteor and above it the distinctive blue of Comet Wirtanen and above Wirtanen lies the Pleiades star cluster. Photographed early this morning as the comet was setting. This is a single 30 sec exposure, no photoshop composite trickery involved. Canon 6D, Carl Zeiss 25mm f2.0 Distagon lens set at f2.8. Exposure 30 Sec at ISO 4000.
