Details:
I located Comet Wirtanen just after 00 UTC using images from my camera before examining it with binoculars. It was faint, but clearly visible. I used a Canon 6D, with a 50mm lens set at f/2.8, ISO 400, 15 seconds on a Skytracker.

Im seeing black dots throughout the small image, but not in the full size one. Those were not in the original.

Wow! The Skytracker works great! I still get slight trails from 15sec exposures. Not knocking you but man the light pollution is strong there, guess its DC/PG/Waldorf area killing you. Im about 25 miles east of you on the Chesapeake. Surprisingly dark skies here.
