Details:
Actually 46Ps coma diameter seems to be about 60 arcmins on this L-channel image. You can begin to imagine a faint tail forming out to the middle of the upper margin. In a high-contrast copy the tail is clearly visible and spans beyond the CCD's frame.
The elevation of Comet Wirtanen was about 65 deg. when recording this remote-image in Australia and it was really hard to capture the tail. But the situation soon will improve for observers in higher latitudes - expecting to catch the tail during next week out of the central region of Germany with my own equipment ...
