Details:
Comet 364P/PANSTARRS was at perihelion in it's 4.88 year orbit last June, it made a close approach to Earth in July at about 22 million miles when it reached magnitude 11. 364P has now faded to about magnitude 19 with no nucleus visible in these images, all that this one hour collection of images and the GIF show is a dust tail about 3' (0.05 degrees) long trailing to the WSW of the comet. The comet was 116 million miles from Earth in these images.
