Details:
All three events were captured near Puerto Rico and within a three day period between November 8 and 11 of 2018. The thunderstorms that produced these TLE events were generated by an upper level trough in the Caribbean. The Gigantic Jet event that I captured on November 11, 2018 was the first that I have captured so late into the season. My earliest captures were in July and the latest was in September, which is the peak of Hurricane season here in Puerto Rico. The bright Halo and Sprites were captured on November 8, 2018. This Halo event was the brightest one I have captured so far. I colorized it to show what it would look like to the naked eye, if you are lucky enough to see one. Their duration is less than the duration of a sprite, which is just milliseconds, so good luck in trying to see one with the naked eye. Special Thanks to Martin Popek for helping me colorized the Halo event. Halos: They are typically triggered by a positive or negative cloud-to-ground lightning strike, like sprites, and will sometimes appear together with sprites. They initiate at about 80-85 KM and will typically look like a red oval shaped cloud. Link to hi res video of these events: https://youtu.be/FMCc9zKlK3o
