Details:
Gorgeous sunset colored clouds on the evening of Friday 9th November made looking for and finding the still thin two day old crescent Moon a challenge as shown in the last two photographs. See if you can spot it? (best viewed full-screen). As the sunset sky started to fade, the Moon with Earthshine became easier to see and it was joined by Mercury, the bright star Antares and Jupiter which formed a beautiful triangle when, for just a few minutes, all four became simultaneously visible (lead photo). The second picture shows an almost horizontal line-up of the Moon with strong Earthshine with Mercury (left) and Antares (further left) behind thin cloud. Camera: Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 in sunset and night scene modes.
