Details:
Despite a band of low cloud close to the horizon behind Chikanga Township near Mutare, the very young Crescent Moon and Jupiter managed to appear for a few minutes in the darkening sky about half an hour after sunset. This picture was taken during the brief interval between when the thin crescent first became visible and set into the cloud. It could not be seen with the naked eye and only appears on a few photographs taken with the camera pointed in the direction at which the theskylive.com online planetarium indicated it would be at about 18.30 LT! Photo: 4 Second exposure with a tripod mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 camera in night scene mode.
