Details:
The first picture taken on 10 October shows the day-and-a-half-old Moon with three planets Jupiter (top), Venus (center left) and tiny Mercury (bottom) in the evening sky to the west of Mutare in Zimbabwe. It is only because the Moon was by then quite widely separated from the setting Sun that it was possible to capture it above Mercury which is now difficult to see after sunset even from the southern hemisphere. The other pictures present the same Young Moon with fewer planets taken just after sunset and in gathering darkness. Camera: Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 in sunset and night scene modes.
