Details:
Went out last night and wait patiently with hope to see some of the show from the upcoming storm. The good thing was that the smog from BC wildfires clears a bit and I could see few small patches of clear sky between the dense blanket of clouds. At the beginning of the show around 23.20 Hrs I was able to snatch few shots before the sky closed shut with clouds. Packed everything and started driving. While driving I noticed to the north a new opening in the sky with the Big Dipper and Aurora dancing around. I stopped and set up everything and started recording again. Was a real fight aurora against the clouds and unfortunately the clouds won the battle here in Kakwa just before the big G3 unexpected storm was in full swing. Looks like the big prize went to our friends from Alaska… .
