Details:
Last month the Full Moon was closest to Mars on the day of the Total Lunar Eclipse (27 July). This month the waxing Moon is closest to Mars three days before becoming full. These late evening views taken between 6.00 and 6.30 pm on 23 August capture the pair in the eastern sky above my house, garden and a flowering poolside Strelitzia (bird of paradise) plant. Camera: Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 in night scene mode.

Nice photos with Mars visibly Red, taken with affordable camera. What a perfect, beautiful location for sky viewing.
