Details:
While setting up for a night under the stars I saw a bright glow in the western horizon. For a second I thought it might be the young moon behind a cloud, but just for a second. Then irealised what it was and I tried to get some pictures. It is simply amazing that in Australia we can see a rocket launched in the USA just a few minutes later. WOW!

Hi Geoff!

Awesome photos. I, too, observed the booster rocket exhaust from Brisbane. It was initially bright enough to been from inside a lit ferry with competition from the reflection of the inside lights. At first I thought it was the landing lights of a jet heading to nearby Brisbane Airport, then I thought it was the crescent moon through clouds, but you confirmed my suspicion that it was rocket-related. Incredible that we could see the rocket exhaust from Australia!
