Details:
I was out yet again last night trying to capture some pictures of Mars in the hope that some more detail may be on the planets surface…but alas, it’s still the same, hopefully it will start to clear soon!
I started early in the evening this time and managed to capture Venus which was still quite high in the western sky and showed a pretty half phase. I then moved onto Jupiter, Mars and Saturn which were all beautifully displayed along the ecliptic, so I was able to take a family portrait of all four planets in just a couple of hours :-)
The size of the planets are to scale as I used all the same settings and equipment, it’s quite amazing to see how large Mars really is at the moment as compared with Saturn, you can see it quite clearly here in the images.
Images were taken with a Meade 10inch LX200 telescope and a ZWO ASI 120 MC-S colour CCD camera with a 3x Barlow attached. AVI movie files were captured and then processed in RegiStax6 and PS CS4.
