Mars aureole and total lunar eclipse
28 July 2018, 03:19 am local time, Hang Dong, Chiang Mai, Thailand
It was the cloudy night and I almost missed the total lunar eclipse. I could see it only short time. Mars was very bright because Mars was at the opposion and closed to the Earth. This time Mars was near the Moon during the eclipse.
It's my first time to see Mars aureole. It is optical phenomena produced by the diffraction of Mars' light by water droplet in the cloud.
