it definitely wasn't great for photos, quite hazy and lots of blowing snow with winds around 25kts Mars on top, Moon on the bottom

Hello Iceman,
i like it! Due to the haze, Moon and Mars are better comparible in color, and brightness. Mars wins. The fade-in of the milky way and the aurora is stunning!
