Details:
#Polar_Night is one of the most memorable & important time in Antarctica. It occurs when the northernmost & southern regions of the Earth when the night lasts for more than 24 hours. This occurs only inside the polar Circles . Here in Southern region at #Bharati Indian Research Station, Antarctica (69°24' 24”S, 76°11'43”E), it lasts for about 49 days. The continue darkness possesses a challenge to maintain activeness and overall mindset of get going as people at times lack energy or get touchy. A high positive spirit among team plays an important role during the long lasting dark to beat the isolation. At the same time, lack of connectivity with real world has always been a thing in many Antarctic establishments. On the other hand, it provides beautiful sights like, Moon looks so warm and huge due to clear air and minimum thickness of atmosphere in between, sky with billion of stars and Milky Way is always there to keep our hearts warm when sun is not there. Periodic amazing dancing colorful polar night lights of Aurora look magnificent over the white desert. (Same things I had experienced at #Bharati, in 2016 during 35th ISEA). Though we all loose something for other and each of our choices define a new path to travel to, I am sure, I won't forget this for life.
Today, got a hint that tomorrow is a big day as clear view of Sun rise will be over the horizon for one hour after 49 days.
