Details:
In this Gif and image Comet 64P/Swift-Gehrels is magnitude 18.5 and 121 million miles from Earth. Comet 64p will make its close approach to Earth October 28 when it will be 41 million miles from Earth at a predicted magnitude of 10. 64P will reach perihelion in its 9.41 year orbit November 3 when it will be 129 million miles from the Sun. For those who show us great images of bright comets like Michael Jaeger, Yasushi Aoshima, Jose Chambo and Gerald Rhemann just to name a few, Comet 64P will only be 4.5 degrees from the center of the background Andromeda Galaxy M31 during the week of its close approach to the Earth, we look forward to some great images of this comet and the brightest galaxy in our Earths night sky.
As usual, select the large image to get a better resolution of my images.
Cheers, Mike Olason
