Details:
Managed to capture the June (Southern Hemisphere winter) solstice sun shining through a Poinsettia flower in my neighbor’s garden at the instant of solstice at 12.07 LT (10.07 UT). Also a filtered close-up of the Sun showing four sunspots two minutes earlier. During the past 24 hours the double spot (AR 2517) has grown very much larger in size. Cameras: Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60’s in sunset scene mode, one with an improvised solar filter (exposed x-ray film attached to the front of the x60 magnification zoom lens).
