Details:
The volcanic island of La Palma is know for inversion layers that shroud the low lying cities while usually leaving the higher altitudes to be cloud free. Light pollution illuminates these low lying clouds and give the dramatic illusion of volcanic activity as fire spews from the famous Caldera, with the backdrop of the apparent motion of the stars due to the earths rotation.
