Details:
Tonight, we see the phase of the Moon on May 17, 2018 as a Waxing Crescent with 7% of the Moon's visible disk illuminated. joined in conjunction with the planet, Venus shining at magnitude -3.9 the two were separated by about 6 degrees. The pair struggled for my attention through mostly cloudy Florida skies, still a very beautiful sight in the west as the sky darkened, as the Sun set.
