Details:
Driving home at noon (ADT) today when I noticed a strange pink glow around a long stretched out cloud ahead of me. At one end of it another cloud was glowing yellow with blue around it. I wear polarized prescription sunglasses so I asked my daughter if she could see the glow without sunglasses. At first she didn't but then the pinks brightened and she said she could. When I got home I was able to snap these photos with my Samsung S8, some taken through my sunglasses to enhance the colours. The colours were constantly shifting and at times very bright to the naked eye. Pink was the prominent colour but thin blue/green glowing ones can been seen. The yellow briefly showed up again too (124746.jpg) but the camera didn't pick it up as well.
These are looking SE with the clouds travelling in an easterly direction. We observed them for about an hour then noticed a ring around the sun once the clouds disappeared.
I have observed blue noctilucent clouds in the past and these looked and acted similar so I'm wondering, is there a name for glowing clouds seen during the daylight?
