Details:
Mare Imbrium, "Sea of Rains". Largest Mare on the moon, thought to have been formed when a protoplanet-sized object collided with the Moon during what was called the Late Heavy Bombardment period early in the formation of the solar system. Image saturation stretched heavily to bring out the colors of the minerals on the moon.
Imaged with Astro-Physics GTX130 and QHY290 camera. 1000 frame stack, processed in Images Plus and Photoshop CC
