Details:
Today Mercury is in western elongation, 27 deg from the sun. But the Planet is not visible in dawn, because it is far more south than the sun. I tried to catch Mercury in Daytime, it wasn't easy and I had to use the Infrared Filter. Image taken with Refractor 123 mm / 738 mm, Barlow 2x, QHY5-II-camera.

I was going to try this yesterday but didnt. I snagged a daytime Venus last year when it was only 20 degrees away from the sun at 1PM in the afternoon - without a go-to telescope. I was very proud of myself. But Mercury was only like mag 0.5 yesterday, much fainter than Venus. Good grab. I know it can be difficult so close to the sun.
