In these images 21P/Giacobini-Zinner is magnitude 18.1 and 170 million miles from Earth. 21P will be at perihelion in its 6.54 year orbit on September 10 when it will be 94 million miles from the Sun. 21P will also makes its close approach to Earth on September 10 when it will be 36 million miles from Earth. 21P may reach magnitude 7.
