Details:
After the sun set behind a ridge tonight, a bright coloured corona became startlingly visible in slightly hazy sky. It is a late spring here, and if pollen is the cause, it is not from northern cottonwoods such as those in the foreground, still barely budding, or from conifers on the mountains, which are still surrounded by snow. Air flow tonight appears to be from the Pacific. I tried to get a better view, but just 8 minutes later the show was much diminished (second photo).
