After looking at my images from the 17 th and 18th march last year and the previous years. I found we had exactly the same red purple auroras as this years images Which makes me think about what really goes on in and around the equinox . We also had a deja vu experience as we ended up almost in the same place as the last 3 years which was Just outside Itto in Finland ,due to horrendous snow storms in troms region.

Gorgeous. Im jealous - see my pics from Scotland - our display was beautiful, but not as good as yours! I hope that one day i can come to Scandinavia to see the aurora properly! good wishes, Paul.
