Details:
Here are views of the aurora at 4 am CST on the morning of Feb 10, 2018 from Churchill, Manitoba. The Kp Index was only 1, but the sky was filled with a slowly changing display that to the eye was colourless. But to the cameras, the colours were obvious with subtle shades of purple and red, as well as the brilliant green from oxygen. An interesting feature was the fringe of fingers along the bottom edge of the main curtain at times. This evolved into a sky full of slowly moving patches. These were from the Churchill Northern Studies Centre on the shore of Hudson Bay, shot with a fish-eye lens.
