Comet 24P/Schaumasse was at perihelion last November 2017 when it reached magnitude 10. In these images it has faded to magnitude 12.9 and is now 139 million miles from Earth. The GIF is 3 images each 180 seconds long with a 3 minute interval between images. To get the best resolution click on the large image.
