Details:
An unusual view of our satellite, elaborated in oversaturation to show the composition difference of its terrain.
The areas which are blue (mainly located in the Maria) are titanium-rich zones, proof of ancient lava flows that contain more of this element compared to their surroundings.
The classic example, visible from the first quarter onwards, is the difference between the Mare Tranquillitatis and the nearby Mare Serenitatis. The orange-toned areas instead show the 'lunar highlands', poor in iron and rich in aluminum feldspars.
