Details:
At about 1 a.m. on 23 December a violent thunderstorm broke over Mutare with torrential rain, vivid lightning and deafening thunder. Three spectacular close lightning strikes were captured on video in just ten minutes from my upstairs veranda (please watch at https://youtu.be/Z1pv8_Rfa-s ). The first bolt was strange (see previous post id=141498). The third and most spectacular was a multiple strike on the Town Center (quarter speed time-lapse animation and 16 frame mosaic) which consisted of three distinct strokes along the same channel with the first decaying slowly to reveal detail (4 frame composite and best view). Awesome! Camera: Hand-held Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ 60 in sunset scene mode with wide angle zoom setting.
